What is an Action Group?

Action Groups are an opportunity for young people to come together to take action on issues that concern them.

Latest News

Our Website Action Group is reforming. Young people told us that this site needs updating, so we will be working with some of you to produce and exciting new site. The group have interview the cast of the last Pantomime 'Snow White'. They went to see the show and have reviewed it. Read what they thought of it.

We will be working with the group to make sure that young people have a say in the future of the Marlowe Theatre.

During the last year

  • Pupils from the Community College Whitstable worked with the council's Children and Youth Team to develop a young person's feedback scheme. The scheme is currently in development at present.
  • The Hot Topix Action group organised a successful Youth Conference at AMF bowling.
  • The Positive Image Action Group held an Intergenerational Fizz n Quiz
  • The Local Democracy Week Action Group designed some brilliant activities for LDW 2008 - including the 'Mayor for the Day Competition'.

Current Action groups

The Website Action Group meet monthly to come up with new ideas for the website. They welcome suggestions from anyone as to good links, games or informtation to add to the site.

Hot Topix Action Group - 2008 met regularly to plan this year's Hot Topix.

Positive Image

The Positive Image Action Group are planning an intergenerational cooking project in the new year.

Marlowe Spotlighters

Are working with the council and the Marlowe Theatre to represent young people in the development of the theatre. They recently reviewed the pantomime Snow White. Read moreabout them here.
