Sports development
The Sports Development Team aims to promote a healthy lifestyle through sporting activity. This involves working with local leisure centres, NHS Health Promotion, as well as many other organisations. The Teams other role is to co-ordinate sport throughout the district, from organising primary school competitions, assisting sports clubs, to coaching sessions and district teams. The Team also works with other council departments such as Outdoor Leisure, Arts Development, Community Development and the Events team to provide the district with sporting opportunities and help sports clubs to allow young people to progress in their sport.
