You Said... We Did

Here's what you said, and what we were able to do.

You said...

We did...

'We're fed up with how young people get the blame for anti-social behaviour' We worked with a group of young people to produce the 'Don't Support It, Report It' DVD, which challenges this negative image of young people - and shows you how easy it is to report anti-social behaviour.
'The council's website is boring for young people.' We worked with a group of young people to develop a site that is interesting and useful for you.
'We want a say in youth services.' Lots of you took part in our Youth Strategy Consultation. The Canterbury District Children's Consortium Youth Strategy has now been completed. You can read the Youth Strategy here.
'Say What postcards are out of date' We asked you to design a new Say What? postcard. This postcard will be used to promote Say What? and to encourage young people to sign up to the scheme
'We want to improve relations between older and younger people' We worked with the Positive Image Action Group to hold an intergenerational Christmas Fizz n Quiz at a sheltered housing centre in Whitstable.
'We want a say in what happens to our town' We held a Say What? consultation to listen to your views about Herne Bay's Regeneration.
'We want a new look brochure with puzzles and photos in' We invited Say What? to work with our design team to develop a new look brochure.
'We'd like to do something different for Hot Topix this year' The action group organised Hot Topix in October (around Local Democracy Week) instead of in July. Instead of planning a consultation followed by a disco, the event was held at AMF Bowling in Whitstable so that young people had the chance to bowl after the consultation.
'The full Youth Strategy is very long and hard to read' We worked with a group of young people to design a young person's version of the strategy. You can read the Youth Strategy here.
'We don't all have colour printers to print your activity guide' We provided black and white versions of our downloadable activity guide.
